BBVA 'has faith in' Mexico: raises growth forecast to 2% for 2022

The Mexican economy will improve in the second half of 2022, due to the good dynamism it showed in the first quarter, higher consumption and the gradual fading of bottlenecks, especially in the automotive sector.

According to BBVA experts, they expect economic activity to grow 2 percent from 1.2 percent in their previous estimate for 2022.

For his part, Carlos Serrano, chief economist at BBVA Mexico, added that inflation in the country will remain high, but will begin to decline in October, so they expect it to close this year at 7.7 percent and remain low in 2023.
