The pandemic saw a jump in the share of electronic commerce in total retail sales in the primary consumer market in the country. Between January and June 2020, the shares of online commerce in total in the State of São Paulo went from 2.9% to 3.7%, an increase of 0.8 percentage point. It was the same growth rate recorded between 2013 and 2019, a study by the Trade Federation of the State of São Paulo (Fecomércio-SP) shows. "In just six months of the pandemic, the share of e-commerce in retail grew the equivalent of six previous years," says the economic advisor at Fecomércio-SP, Kelly Carvalho.
