Magazine Luiza and GLP announced last week the delivery of the enterprise considered the largest Distribution Center (DC) of the retailer in the country. Located in the GLP Guarulhos II logistics park in São Paulo, the Distribution Centre has 119,000 sq metres and was built in the built-to-suit model by GLP.
According to the shed developer, who is also one of the global leaders in the segment, the work was carried out in record time, in 12 months, and is the largest bespoke project carried out by the company in Brazil.
The new Distribution Centre is already operating, contributing to the service of the Southeast region, both for supplying Magalu stores and for delivering products sold through digital channels. The retailer projects that the Distribution Centre handles around 8,000 to 12,000 orders daily.
In addition to concerns about logistical efficiency and offering a space that provides well-being to employees, sustainability and the rational use of natural resources were essential pillars in the CD project. According to the companies, the Distribution Centre is certified to obtain the LEED Gold seal for sustainable construction. Additionally, GLP will reforest 177,000 sq metres in an environmental preservation area by planting 14,500 seedlings of trees of native species.
According to SiiLA's Market Analytics platform data, the Guarulhos II LPG complex is class A+, with a total area of 250,000 sq metres. The logistics condominium also has Mercado Livre among its tenants.
