IWG strengthens its presence in the northeast and generating R$40 million in investments



The IWG, a global and national leader in flexible workspaces such as coworkings and offices, strengthens its franchise front with a robust expansion strategy throughout 2021. The group, holder of the Regus and Spaces brands, will expand the area of coverage of its units by attracting the interest of franchisees in 70 cities across the country. A mapping produced by the group in the Northeast region, the cities of São Luís (MA); Natal, RN); Maceió (AL); Teresina (PI); João Pessoa (PB); Aracaju (SE); Jaboatão dos Guararapes (PE) and Feira de Santana (BA) are among the potential locations that will receive one of the 16 new franchised units. The company estimates that its arrival in these municipalities should generate an investment of R$40m in the region's economy and create 160 direct jobs.

In a survey conducted by the recruitment and selection consultancy Robert Half, in Brazil, more than half (58%) of experts thought about moving to another city or country while working remotely in recent months. According to Adriano Magalhães, director of franchising at the IWG, last year, there was an increase in demand for these shared workspaces, which became an option for 80% of Brazilians seeking alternatives to the work from home model.
