La Perla, the Shopping Center that Boosted the Sector in the West of Mexico

The recovery of shopping centers is progressing after the restrictions due to the pandemic, mainly due to paused projects resuming activities between 2020 and 2021.

The most relevant during the first quarter of the year was Distrito La Perla, in Zapopan, Jalisco, due to its size. Of the 130,000 square meters of construction added in Mexico's Western region during this period, a quarter corresponded to this project.

The construction, with mixed land use, was scheduled to open in 2020 (with construction starting in 2016), but due to the pandemic, its opening was postponed to April of this year.
