For the third year in a row, Mexico ranked among the top 5 countries with the highest growth in e-commerce retail, on par with markets such as India, Brazil, Russia and Argentina.
According to the Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO), e-commerce in the country reached a value of $401.3 billion pesos in 2021.
This represents a growth of 27% compared to the previous year, and exceeds the world average by more than 10 points; demonstrating a market with strong expansion.
"Mexico is one of the countries with the greatest weight of e-commerce retail, surpassing developed markets such as France, Germany, Italy and Brazil," said a recent AMVO study.
These results show that the digital consumer still recognizes the benefits of online shopping beyond price, such as home delivery, avoiding trips to physical stores and having access to exclusive inventories.
