Tetra Pak Announces Investment of $500 Million Dollars in Queretaro

With the goal of reducing climate impact, from 2020 Japan is working on a commercial technology validation that uses a polymer-based layer to replace the aluminum layer in liquid beverage packages.

This trial will change the value chain, as it is expected to replace the aluminum layer with a more sustainable alternative and provide natural juices with adequate oxygen protection, while increasing recycling rates.

Following this learning, Tetra Pak is currently testing a fiber-based layer in close collaboration with some customers.
