Walmart de México y Centroamérica (WALMEX) grew its revenues by 12.0% in the second quarter of 2022 (2Q22), registering 195 billion 619 million pesos (MXN), compared to 174 billion 674 million pesos in the same period of 2021. In the accumulated January-June period, it recorded revenues of 383.46 billion pesos.
EBITDA amounted to 20.14 billion pesos, which represented 10.3% of total revenues and an increase of 11.1% compared to 2Q21, when it obtained 18.13 billion pesos. Accumulated EBITDA reached 40.86 billion pesos, 8.7% more than in the first six months of 2021, when it was 37.61 billion pesos.
Walmart had higher sales in the Southeast region of the country, while the groceries and consumables category continues to be the best-selling, unlike apparel.
