Retailing should take a long time to recover from the fall of 2020. Last year, the social distancing measures and the boost of online commerce overthrew physical stores’ opening in the country. Trade lost 75.2 thousand points of sale between openings and closings, revealing a study by the National Confederation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC), obtained exclusively by Estadão. The survey considers stores with an employment relationship that enter the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged).
